My husband and I live in Columbus, Ohio with our three kiddos (eight year old triplets!), one lovely sheepdog, and lately, several minnows my kids have scooped out of the neighborhood creek. There’s never a dull moment, so please know that a healthier you is possible no matter what is happening in your life.
Three years ago I learned I have a biomarker that increases my risk of heart disease. At first I was frozen by fear. Then I became a patient at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic’s Preventive Cardiology Program. I’ve spent the past three years educating myself in partnership with their multidisciplinary clinic staff. Additionally, I’ve spent way too much time geeking out on evidence based research. I also earned the Health and Wellness: Designing a Sustainable Nutrition Plan certificate at Harvard Medical School.
In all this learning, one thing has been abundantly clear. The Mediterranean pattern of eating consistently has the best outcomes. However, it took me a while to understand how to follow it. Now I’m here to save you time and help you to adopt this pattern of eating with ease.
Not only does the Mediterranean Diet protect you from heart disease (aka human’s number one killer), but it protects your brain against dementia, and your body from cancer. No matter your genetic predisposition, the Mediterranean pattern of eating has great benefits for you. At Mediterranean for Life, my goal is to make sure it’s not only healthy, but delicious. I figure if we’re in it for life, it better taste good.
